Well!! Well!! Well!! Finally done the DON! And loved it to death!!
All said and done, guys just go and watch the movie!! Without any mood to compare, without any love to hate it!! I bet, youll love
it... Take my word for it!!
So, lemme not get into an effort of explaining the movie once again!! More than enough number of times has my fellow
MouthShuttinas done it with perfection.. The very first take I feel like taking on the movie is the end of it!! SRK just reminded me
of that age old adage.. "One, who laughs the last, laughs the best!!" Everything apart, he proved his class in this movie.
Farhan Akhtar and his entire team.. Thumbs up to all you guys!! And a High Five for you too!! You guys rock. Dont know how it
managed to, but this film gave me an over the top feeling. So sleek, so damn s**y, so polished, almost had the Hollywood touch to
it... The Car Chase, every encounter, the pace of the movie on the whole, everything was slim trim, superb! But then again, the
songs had their own Hindi movie effect on the flick. "Main Hoon Don" was astounding; "Khaike Paan" was cute beyond my imagination
and "Maurya Re" was the absolute visual treat -- a plethora of colors and smiles all the way...
The stunts in this movie deserve a special mention -- nothing actually looked "impossible" anytime, things seemed to be telling on my
face, "Hey, mujhko pahechan lo.. Im possible!!" Farhan, thanks for the great show. Ya, the only complaint I have is about the
death defying stunt. Guess a perfect phrase for it will be "Plummeting new depths"!! But the airborne fighting scenes looked a bit
superficial; just didnt have the reality touch in it! It felt a bit cold and drab at the end! Though I guess the perfect landing made
it all too fun to watch!!
Performances... SRKs the strength, the truth and the DON ultimately... Hes beyond everything and anything. Priyanka Chopras
confident, smart and simply amazing! Boman Irani does absolute justice to his role.. Kareena does a cameo but sizzles steaming hot!!
Isha is perfect in that small role but her outfits just dont fit in with the essence of the movie!! Arjun Rampal -- well done Dude!!
Om Puris probably the only flaw in the casting coz an actor of his stature is simply wasted!! And perhaps a more fit look to this
character would have freshened up the movie by leaps and bounds..
Finally, my very personal take on this "Master bluster" (Can call it my version of "Blockbuster"!)!! A die-hard SRK fan that I am
perhaps might have made me feel so but still I am convinced I am being rather unbiased to a certain degree! SRKs screen presence
was larger than life and his on-screen persona was mind blowing! In fact, he got me so much enthralled with his performance that I literally missed him in every frame of the flick that didnt have him!!!
And one final word... I belong absolutely to this era -- grown up watching SRK-Aamir... Never have seen the 1978 original version
of Don.. But after seeing this movie, I definitely want to watch the classic trend-setter... If this sleek flick is so astounding, the
original must be mind-blowing too! If an inspiration is working wonders, it must be an effort to better the best!!
