First of all let me start with the overall movie pace , the pace of the movie is really slow. Even after being a farhan akthar movie, it ought to have been a fast movie .Their is no continuty in the story. At times the movie gets slow and boring and at times it gets extra fast.Although in style and logic movie is at par with the Hollywood Bond flicks. But that does not make it a great entertainer.ABOUT THE PLOT OF THE MOVIE
The drug trade is booming. Trafficking between Asia and Europe is at anall-time high. There are rumors that a dreaded gang has moved theiroperational headquarters to Kuala Lumpur. The cartel is headed bySinghania [Rajesh Khattar], but the business is managed by hislieutenant Don [Shah Rukh Khan].
An Indian officer Desilva [Boman Irani] has sworn to put an end to thenexus. He knows that in capturing Don lies the key to unlock thispuzzle. And he succeeds one day. Don is captured and Desilva puts hisplan into action. Unknown to even his own department, Desilva recruitsand trains a man who is a splitting image of Don. His name is Vijay.
Vijay infiltrates the cartel and manages to give Desilva all theinformation he needs to bring it down. But in a bizarre twist of fate, Desilva is killed during a raid and the secret that Don is in factVijay is buried with him. The only people who realize that he’s animposter are the members of Don’s cartel [Pawan Malhotra and ShakeelKhan] and they want their revenge.
Vijay manages to escape and is now on the lookout for the one lastpiece of evidence that can get him out of the mess. Helping him on thisquest are two people: Roma [Priyanka Chopra] and Jasjit [Arjun Rampal].
ITS SAME AS THE OLD ONE EXCEPT THAT COP DSILVA IS VARDHAN THE MAIN VILLIAN AND DON .........WELL WATCH CLIMAX FOR THAT.The original script [Salim-Javed] had thepower to keep you involved and mesmerized for the next 2.30 hours. Thenew version lacks it.
Coming to the SRK’s acting in he hasn, t done justice to the role , especially in the Vijay’s role he was looking really uncomfortable.Rest everyone has so undefined roles that it gets difficult ot judge their acting. Om puri is wasted. Arjun has nothing much to do. Boman Irani is great in the negative role.Priyanka was not great .Isha had a small role .Overall among ladies Kareena stole the show even with the smallest part...Since its a remake of the 1970’s Amitabh blockbuster comaprisons are unavoidable , SRK’s was looking small even on Farhans big canvas while Amitabh stole the show becoming the greatest of the Don’s in the old Don. Vijay in the Barots Don was a humrous man while in this one he was not properly defined .In the previous don every character has his or her part .While in this one many characters are wasted .AB’s Don is a evergreen entertainer . One can watch it as many times while this one is hard for one time also .OVERALL THIS ONE IS FOR HARDCORE SRK’S FANS . FOR THE REST ITS A DISSAPPOINTMENT..
