First of all a compliment to Mr. Zaidi, for the tremendous accomplishment, manifestation of which is the book - Dongri to Dubai.
Now, this book is about Dawood Ibrahim, the Indian Mafia’s undisputed king. More than anybody else, this man has been infamous amongst the generation. The book however isn’t all about him, infact the book takes you through the events which led to the making of Dawood Ibrahim. It also throws light on the emergence of the mafia from the underbelly’s of mumbai, and continues on to where the freshmen are now coming from. Quite a journey I must say this book covers.
It’s an excellent introductory info source about the Mumbai Mafia for beginners, an excellent alternative for people who like crime fiction, it’s a biography and in short, an interesting read.
The book also encapsulates well the content of films like Shootout at Lokhandwala and Shootout at Wadala.
