Suitably a missed chilling supernatural thriller

Don’t Knock Twice stars Katie Sackhoff as Jess, an artist looking to reunite with her estranged daughter Chole, played by Lucy Boyton, nine years after having been forced to place her into foster care.

Plot-wise, the film feels slightly derivative, with many aspects having been borrowed from similar horror movies likeMama, specifically the themes of motherhood and the potrayal of the anatgonist.

It has a vague but enciting failry-tale aesthetic right down to a climatic scene set in a woodsy underground liar but like every other aspect of the narrative, it falls short of reaching its potential.

The picture ends in a state of flux, not doing anything wrong enough to be bad but not fully realized enough to be more than a missed opportunity.
