My early age started with DD national.Lot of good programmes were telecasted on that time such as chitrakar( every wednesday 8 p.m) , chitramala( every monday 8p.m) , award winning feature film-regional launuage( every sunday 1.30 pm) , malgudi days and mahabharadam serial ( every sunday 9a.m) .their quality was also very good on that time.overall india watched their live telecast such as ., cricket and election news .no competition upto 90’s starting.after satellite broadcast started, they lose their viewers many.now high quality equipments are installed at doordarshan kendra offices.but programmes are worst compare with regional private channels.lot of all india radio( AIR) offices merged with doordarshan.staffs also decreased by government.recently doordarshan kanchipuram branch, tamilnadu closed. It is very sad news for doordarshan viewers.
