And when you smile for me

’Love’ **and

Friendship’** are two objects of desire in today’s modern world. Of course, these are intangible objects and are subject to all sorts of sales and demand mechanics as any other object would. No one can deny this fact... howsoever, true he\she is towards his\her love\friend, there is an inherent selfishness giving furtive glances from within.

’Dostana’ is a Larger-than-Life movie which tried to explore one such tale of friendship and love giving lots of footage to the gay-world.

It was refreshing to see ’just friends’ angle between 2 boys and a girl. Yeah it did drift towards romance little bit but then it did not end in boring stereotype dialogues...

"Now.. It is difficult for me to be just-friends with you’’

I followed by sobbing.. and dramatic moments]

Alright.. let me not waste any further time of my dear readers and take you into the story of the movie... but yes... don’t worry... be assured its gonna be like John’s yellow boxers... ;)

...:::Story of the movie:::...

Dostana started off on a very light and sexy note featuring chiseled body of John Abraham (Kunal) and dazzling-in-pink car of Abhishek Bachchan (Sam). Finishing touches being given by Shilpa Shetty as she bounced around the two hunks. No one can ask for more... That one song was worth a drool for boys and girls alike.. Watch it to believe...

Ok Ok... I was about to tell the storry... hmmm.. so these two gays.. err.. I mean guys.. *were leading an exciting life in Miami... not at all the kind of life people in real world live.. They were living a dream with hot girls by their side, good paid job, and not to worry about anything in life... All of a sudden both of them were thrown out of their apartments and were looking for one.. and straight landing at Auntie’s house.. Neha’s (Priyanka Chopra) auntie..

But auntie was looking for babies and not babas as tenants. So, an idea struck and both declared themselves as a gay-couple..

The moments thereafter are replete with comedy. Twists and turns follow with entry of Bobby Deol as Neha’s boss and spark of mutual love. Yes! The two hunks also fall for Neha baby and this gives rise to situaions and moments which are comic and entertaining.

Now, who finally wins Neha is irrelevant as the the babes did not look hotter than the hunks and their chemistry with each other.

Dostana element: Neha(cries): I am 27, single, my job is crap, ye mera plan nahi tha. Sam (pacifies her): bachpan ke sapne hamesha sach nahi hote..mein bhi bachpan mein actor bann na chahta tha... So life is like that..

Kunal  gives a cute smile: Sam (to Kunal):Don’t tell me that you wanted to become a photographer since your childhood?

Sam **(to Neha): *hum losers ki liye iski perfect life mein koi jagah nahi hai...

Kunal (to both of them): I am thankful to this life as if this did not happen we could not have come in contact with each other... so doesn’t matter if the plans we had for our lives fails, coz ...Ye dostana kisi bhi plan se jyada rocking hai..

...and the trio Group-Hugs each other...

The friendship song jaane kyu’ **is just awesome and it will want you to dance and sing along.. It will not only pep-up your mood when you are sad, but will also make you nostalgic about your friends. It is a song for all moods, for all emotions...

...:::Everything else:::...

The only real life characters in the movie are - Priyanka Chopra and her dostana with John and Abhishek...  While the ’Dostana with Sam and Kunal’ carried off and created a stir in the hearts; the real life character of Priyanka was a disaster as it failed to match with the larger-than-life characters of John and Abhishek.

The larger than life characters of John and Abhishek rocked the whole movie watching experience.

Dostana element is rocking in the movie. But the love angle sucks. With love songs like ’Kuch Kum’ *and ’Khabar Nahi*’ it tries to get an edge but fails elsewhere.

Chemistry between John and Abhisehk *is spell-bounding. It will make you forget the hit jodis in the past - SRK-Saif, Amitabh-Dharmendra... Yes! It was just fantastic to watch the duo on-screen giving the best shots of their lives in each and every scene and lending an aesthitic touch to the frames was the superb direction, screenplay and stunning cinematography.

Picturization of the song ’Maa-da-laadla’ *is quite entertaining and it will evoke bursts of laughters. Sam’s mother (Kiron Kher) did an astounding job in this song with the right expressions, right movements, right timing.. just perfect..

...:::My rating:::...

The moive might not be accepted well by the ones who believe in serious cinema and expect real life simulation in movies. But those who enjoy the movies which are beyond reality and which takes you into a dream world full of fantasy, will relish this one..

You don’t want to miss this one as it will not only entertain you but will also give you a chance to celebrate and rejoice the bonds of friendship.

...:::My dostana moments on MS:::...

When I was totally confused about the changes in the MS world and was on the verge of quitting, he instilled hopes in me and promised me that there is better future...

This is for you ’dost’ and for our dostana...

When I was little sad disappointed about my review not getting much comments, they grouped up and started hot discussion in the comments section of my review and made that review the grosser of highest comments among my reviews.

This is for you ’dost’ and for our dostana...

I am sure there are many such moments in our lives which need to be expressed not because we want to impress them or be courtuos but just because we want them to know that it mattered a lot when it happened...

Any dostana moment (on or off MS) you wanna share? Please do...

PS: I dedicate this one to all my friends on MS....
