I found this really cool site that I would like to share with you all. What is this site you ask? Well I will tell you? You guys have heard of the Pillsbury Doughboy I am sure. You know the little white guy in the baker’s hat that giggles when you push his tummy.
Well he has this really neat site that you can go to and find out all sorts of ways to help yourself in baking, decorating and other things to sugar cookies. Baking times, chocolate chip cookies and a lot of other wonderful things.
In fact the store is closed at this time. Will open again in the fall. But the site itself was a wonderful place for me to be. I will share that now.
Doughboy Site
You can find the site at https://doughboy.com. And when you first sign on you will find the Doughboy himself up in the left hand corner. You will also find there across the top links that will take you to Cookie Ideas, Family Fun, Parties, Cookie Help and Doughboy Store.
You will also find five squares that will take you to various other sites where you can find out about Family Fun (Seasonal Fun), Doughboy Fun (About the Doughboy), Parties (Ideas for Every Season), and Easter Eggs (Easter Egg Coloring), which will change accordingly to the holiday. You may only find three squares. It changes from time to time.
Each of these will take you to areas where you can learn about the choice you made to go see. For instance, say you want to know about the Doughboy, you clicked that link and you would be taken to a page all about him. (will talk more about him later, there’s an interview that I will share.) And you could meet the Doughboy and tickle his tummy and he will giggle at you, this was pretty cool. My own little Doughboy and I didn’t have to pay for him.
While you are there at that page you can find out about the Doughboy, Coloring with the Doughboy, and Merchandise.

Cookie Ideas
Boy there are a lot of things that a person can do with a sugar cookie. I am so glad that I have my own recipe. Of course you can purchase the Pillsbury sugar cookies and do the same thing. It depends on what mood you are in I suppose. (follow the cooking instructions on the package for using their cookies.)
Ingredients:
1 (18-oz.) pkg. Pillsbury® Refrigerated Sugar Cookies
1 (15.6-oz.) can pink vanilla frosting with candy bits
1 (16-oz.) can vanilla frosting Small jelly beans Assorted candies String licorice, cut into six 1-inch pieces and two 1 1/2-inch pieces Heat oven to 350°F.
Line large cookie sheet (17x14-inch) with foil. Cut dough in half; refrigerate 1 half.
Divide remaining dough in half; shape 1 half into large ball. To form bunny’s body, press ball into 6-inch round on foil-lined cookie sheet 1 inch from short side.
Divide remaining dough in half. For head, shape 1 section into ball; press into 4-inch round so it just touches other round.
To form ears, divide remaining dough in half. Press and shape into ears 5 inches long and 2 inches apart just touching head.
Bake at 350°F. for 7 to 12 minutes or until set. Cool on foil. Repeat with remaining half of dough. When completely cool, carefully remove foil from bunny cookies.
Frost cookies with frosting as desired. Outline ears, bow tie and vest using jelly beans and assorted candies. Sprinkle candy bits from frosting on ears and bow tie.
Use candy for eyes and nose, 1 inch string licorice pieces for whiskers and 1 1/2-inch pieces for mouth.
Did you know in order for frosting to work better you can put it into the microwave for 20 seconds. This will allow you to spread the frosting a lot better. And you will find an entire section on how to’s and how not to’s.
How The Doughboy Came About
Directly from the website:
One of Americas favorite spokes characters More than 30 years ago, a small group of advertising people sat around a table cracking open cans of Pillsbury dough in search of a creative idea they could use to establish awareness of Pillsburys refrigerated dough business.
Poppin Fresh®, the Pillsbury Doughboy™, popped out of his first can of Pillsbury refrigerated dough on November 7, 1965. He made his debut in a commercial for Pillsbury® Refrigerated Crescent Rolls. Within three years of his first appearance, more than 87% of the population had come to know this little guy who personified the qualities of Pillsbury Refrigerated Dough.
Hes even more popular today, typically ranking first on the list of Americas most popular food-product characters. (He lost the crown to the California Raisins one year, but regained it the next.) Although he originated as Poppin Fresh, the Pillsbury Doughboy, today he represents all Pillsbury branded products in the United States and in many countries throughout the world.
The original rough sketch of the Doughboy™ included all the features you see today - the smile, the tummy, and the bakers hat. And he keeps step with the times: In the 1960s, he helped Marsha Brady in the kitchen. In the 1980s, he played excellent air guitar. In the 1990s, he became a phat rap star. He is probably best known for his signature giggle -- Hoo, hoo.

How I Feel
I was able to get around the site no problem and I learned a lot about cookies and the Doughboy. It was really interesting to read about the legend of the Doughboy.
I was disappointed a little though because the Doughboy Store had no offers at this time and they were closed. And it will be the fall before something new comes along. But other than that all was great site!
I hope that this has helped in some kind of way.
God Bless!
