Now that summer days are long gone, we tend to relax a wee bit on our personal hygiene. It can be due to our own laziness or Mother Nature in general.Although one may not sweat as much during these months, a good deodorant is always welcome as to not scare your colleagues & other woodland creatures(the non-hibernating ones)away.Showering & perfuming yourself are two basics one cant forego, even during winter.
Doves deo products in general have never really interested me.I adooore the fragrance of the companys bar soaps & was in search for a good antiperspirant after using up my 8x4(the best deo out there by far, simply wanted a change).I then came across these deodorisers neatly lined up on the shelves & that caught my eye the moment I walked into the mall-like-store.The sprays smelled very similar to the soaps, so I decided to purchase it.Why the silk version? The packaging is normal, yet presentable with Doves trademark white cannister.Silk had golden & peach nuances along with a beige cap added to it & I happened to be wearing the same coloured top(yes, thats how certain choices in life are made).
The product claims that its alcohol free & contains 1/4 moisturisers. Its supposed to calm, soothe & soften your underarms(hence silk). When sprayed, there is a formation of white stains which is one annoying factor concerning this, but it seems to occur with every deodorant formulated without alcohol. The fragrance reminds me of a mix of Doves bar soap with some sweet rice dish, which may sound gross...........but to the nose is pretty attractive & lends a clean, but fresh & sophisticated feel without smelling like a hospital sanitiser.Infact if Old Spice was made into a more feminine version, this would be it.The aerosol arriving out of the spray itself is quite powdery & it doesnt bother me.It goes on dry, which may give the feeling that it isnt really combatting sweat. The truth is this works for a certain amount of perspiration, but if you expect this deo alone to stay throughout your swimming, jogging & workout sessions.........thats beyond impossible. The 169ml(100gm)bottle lasted me around two months & cost about 1 R.O.(Rs.100, prices may vary). This is a pretty good buy for a deo, not as great as Fa or 8x4, but on par with Nivea.
Final grade- B-;Jane Austen would term this an Elizabeth, mild at first but strong in personality & grows on you
FYI-Less rating for the compliments received section since I wear perfume on top of deodorants while going out, so my friends would be complimenting my perfume.A neigbour did question me whether I just had my shower due to the smell, even though it was late evening & I had already bathed during the day.I guess that can be considered a compliment.
