That’s what DAP (Download Accelerator plus 8) is all about. Today, out of the whole population of the world(100 %), 65% of the crowd is downloading 100’s and 100’s of files of any type (Doc, .exe, .html, .rar, .xml etc)each month. Since the MS (Microsoft) download window did not contain many of the features which are now days have become essential, people are trying out - Internet download managers. I also being one of them download DAP around 3 months back and found it the most useful utility particularly in this category. So now, here I go to write a review on the product which everyone should install in their hard-disk.

Introduction :

Download accelerator plus is an utility which helps you accelerates your downloads approx 25 % by finding the fastest source (Website) for them.

Installation Process :

In simple words, to be short and sweet- It was a breeze. The easiest installation process. You have to just download the file from speedbit.com and then double click on it. In approx. 25-28 seconds, the installation is finish and finally the system gets rebooted.

Interface and Looks :

The new version 8.0, launched around 1.5 months back, has a lovely yet comfortable-Easy to use interface with many more ad-on’s.The looks have completely changed with a ’Silver Grayish’ touch. The Speedo meter is there to unable us to see the speed at which the selected/current file is being downloaded.The tabs/buttons like- ’Add’, ’Resume’, ’Upload’ etc have also been provided for an easier management and has changed a bit, making DAP more Sophisticated, smarter & stylish than before. The interface of the DAP Version 7.0 was very plain.

Yeh Kya Kar Sakta Hain a.k.a Features :

They are just tempting , yum yum & yummy (Just kiddin, dont Worry yaar, I am not going to eat them up.)But hey, the moment you will read about them, your mouth will open and remain open. It wouldn’t shut till the list id over. Taking a step forward towards the features, I m sure that Himanshu (madsadman), Mayank (matwalaboy), Pras (Citicize), Santhosh (Paulose) Bhaiya, Prassidha & Anusha also will love them the most.

1. Works with Most of the Browsers-

Includes-Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, Mozilla/Firefox & K-meleon.

2. Resume Broken Downloads-

this indeed is the most happening/successful feature out of the whole package. It helps us to resume those downloads which due to some or the other problem/reason broke or stopped. The reasons may include:

A) No response From the Sever.

B) Your Internet Connection is down.

C) Virus attack (Sometimes happens, usually very rare!!)

So if your download has broke/stopped, no need to take any more tensions and get hyper, DAP is always there & will be to help you out.

3. DAP Drive & Search-

Like the way you can share any kind of files through the internet with over 200, 00, 032 people from across the globe in Kazaa or Ares, the same feature is available to DAP users .Upload as many files you want to from your harddisk.Also now search for your downloads directly through the search tab in the main interface window. No need to search through Google.com or Download.com. (Ya, I agree they have their own charm. Personal Choice Only)

4. Control Your Downloads-

Through the updated version (8.0) of DAP, you can sort, assign priorities like - Urgent etc and queue your downloads. Also check the status with just a click of a button. Very helpful at times.

5. Read Reviews & Info-

In DAP; specialty is there all the way through. Read various reviews on the file being downloaded by you & get full fledged information on it. The product rating can also be seen in the window below the ’Top Downloads’ window.

6. Scheduler-

Set the date & time at which you want DAP to download the files selected.

7. Force Download-

At any point of time, you feel that the download process is slowing down every minute and the speed is not increasing at all, then you simply have to right click on that download file and select ’Force’.Shoooooooooooooooooooo-the manager will start finding different sites/servers from where more speed can be obtained.

8. Games Center-

The name of the Top Ten games is displayed in the main interface window. By clicking on them you can download their trial versions and Have Fun :)!!!!!

9. History Manager:

The manager displays the files which have already been downloaded and installed. Also get info about the products searched since installation.

10. FTP Browser:

This browser downloads the files which are available only through FTP server.

In the coming years, most of the files would be download only through FTP browser.So, this is an added feature!!!!!
