Again I have to disagree with everyone else. These types of programs really do nothing but take up space, eat your memory, and generaly just get in the way. Most new servers do allow resuming a lost or broken connection, but there still are some that do not, in those cases these programs dont do you any good.
The Claims of speeding up your internet connection!! Hogwash like I said before you want Faster download speed or connection buy a faster MODEM or upgrade to Broad Band. The way they suposedly speed your connection up is to connect more than once to the server from where your downloading ... or they download the graphics and such ahead of time usually 1 or 2 links deep.
The programs that download ahead of time are USELESS... why would you want that much information downloaded into your computer? say your on Yahoo’s home page these programs will take EVERY clickable link on the page and pre-download all the graphics, and then every link for that page. This is a waste of time and computer processor power. And if your like most people and use windows all these small graphics are saved in your Temp Internet Folder. So now you have folders full of files that you may not even want!!! if you dont click all the links then you downloaded these files for nothing and all they do is take up your space.
The programs that connect more than once to a server, they seem like a good idea but why would you want to do that ? how many times do you download a program more than say 3 or 4mb ? hardly never!!! so whats the use in connecting more than 1 time ? I see no reason why ..
Again just another JUNK program to take up space on your hard drive and your Desktop so that advertisers can blast your eyes with Ads ..... do you really want to see a bunch of Ads while your surfing on the internet ?? I know I dont
