I consulted Dr. Fatima few years ago for my first pregnancy as I read about the waterbirth and its benefits on newborns and got her lead from web and went to her hoping I will give birth normally . Everything was going fine and at my 38th week I had spotted mild bleeding once and went to her. She did a scan and found out everything was normal. Since I come a little far away distance from her clinic she suggested me to get admitted in her hospital immediately as it happened with one of her patients and they delivered baby somewhere else. I was admitted on Friday night was induced the next morning. My water broke still I was induced again and all nightmares had started. I went through horrible and intense pain even I was wiggled by a slight touch that time. It was sunday morning and there was no doctor available as Dr. Fatima went on to attend a conference and the nurses there lacked sufficient skills. A junior doctor from her conference was sent to check my dilation later but he too left after few minutes. Me and my family were left alone and She had planned my c section on Monday as anaesthetist was not available. My baby had got high BP in the night and gone into high stress and had meconium. The nurse didn’t check for the vitals, guess I still had left with little luck and I did check on myself and found some greenish discharge and alerted the nurse. Doctor came after some time .I was taken to OT. My baby was in serious condition and was told if by few hours the condition is not improving we had to take the baby to another hospital as they lacked the NICU facility. Luckily we both survived and got discharged from hospital after a week. Unfortunately I had post pregnancy bleeding for 5 months because of the high stress my body went through. Even after so many years I still have that numbness in my c section spot bcoz of nerve entrapment happened during that time.
My experience with her was good and I trusted her completely. There is no doubt on her knowledge but timely care and commitment towards the patient and mainly shedding of I know everything attitude would have helped me a lot. The hospital staff were underpaid and lacked basic skills too. They might have trained for normal deliveries but an emergency a big NO.
Please think if you get suggested to go for C section or labour induce at Alpha Clinic. Only luck can save you and your baby.
