I tried 3 IUI cycles @ Milann. Yes, Milann(previously known as Santhaana) is located near Shivananda cirlce, Kumara Krupa Road, Bangalore. Dr Kamini Rao(of course very experienced) is the Medical Director there. When I approached her for the first I was satisfied with her suggestions & decided to go with IUI.
I did 3 unsuccessful IUIs there & upon asking one the assistant doctors named Mandeep, he was offended & told me that the rate of IUI is only 15%. So there should not be much expectation from it. All I wanted to know was simply what could be probable reasons that IUI failed. Overall, I didnt liked the following there:
Dr Kamini is available only for consultation & isnt involved in performing procedures. It has to be done by her assistant doctors.
These assistant doctors keep on changing frequently. You cant recollect their names all the time. If you have any doubt about medication or something, you are at the mercy of the receptionist who will connect you to the scan room (wherein whosoever is available will guide you). So the satisfaction that my doctor knows my medical history & procedure is completely ruled out.
They dont have a good Andrologist who can analyze the semen well.
For giving semen sample, husband must go to BACC (5 mins walk from main center).
Semen processing might take 45 mins to 1:30 hours (depends). The gentleman named Gowda, who will process the sample arrives only after 10:30 or 11am. So if you were early to hospital thinking you may complete the process quickly & go to office, you will be in the soup. If you will go for the scan late, then by that time the crowd will be even huge.
After the semen sample is ready, the doctor who performs IUI must come from main center. This process takes time approx 30 mins to 45 mins. During our last IUI, doctor took 2 hours to arrive to perform IUI, even after repeated requests.
