The L.H. Hiranandani hospital administrative staff and Dr Bandookwala believe that they can take the patients coming to the hospital for granted. I experienced their lack of professionalism today.
After fixing up an appointment a week in advance, I reached hospital dot on time and was asked to wait. Upon inquiry, I was informed that the doctor had not turned up. I asked them the reason to make me wait and was casually informed that he might have been held up due to some emergency. I asked them to inform me as to why was I not informed of his coming late despite my cell number being available with them, I was informed very casually that they did not do so as the doctor had not informed them of his coming late to hospital. Noticing that I demanded an explanation for making me wait, they came up with an explanation that he was held up in an emergency.
While in Mumbai it is possible for people to get late due to traffic problems but not informing patients of the same in time is lacking in basic courtesy and professionalism. Further, the casual attitude and arrogant behaviour of junior doctor and administrative staff underlined that they were accustomed to take patients and customers for granted .
Allowing a service provider and a medical doctor to make a customer wait after collecting fees is not something acceptable to me and I walked out.
I do not even expect an apology from the doctor or the hospital, but it is for sure that henceforth I would not visit this hospital.
