Had my first Drambuie about five years back when I chanced upon a bottle at the Delhi airport. The first time I unscrewed the bottle, the smell hit me and to this day, I still sniff it a lot before savoring it!
I had the first one on the rocks as wanted to soak the full blooded taste, and what a taste it was? The smell of rich spices, cinnamon etc in its golden-brown hue was just too compelling!
What stood out was the apt blend of honey and scotch. I even tried it with some more scotch (Black Label, Glenfidich, etc) and found it as just an ever-compatible partner. Though, I never felt like Diluting it with water/ soda, lest it looses its original.I now share this fantastic drink with my very special friends only!!!
