Dressing for a casual party

Dressing is all the more important wherever you go. Even if it means you are meeting your own family after a long gap, for example returning from overseas journey after a year. So dressing for a casual party should not be taken casually.

These days’ casual parties became very common these days particularly because paying capacity increased and it became a fashion as well. Mostly these casual parties are being hosted in budget level hotels. These casual parties have become much more common among overseas Indian community.

In casual parties you may be meeting at least some persons for the first time and the problem of’first impression’ will always be there.

But in a get together to look lively is also important even if you have so much familiarity with all of them. After all nobody comes to a casual party to feel dejected or depressed.

If this casual party is in the morning and it is out in the open like lovely garden and if you know it’s location beforehand it is very important to wear very light coloured cloths. In the mornings the light colours always appeal. Completely dark coloured cloths dampen other’s spirits as well as yours. A light brinjal cloured or a very light yellowish(the colour of chrysanthemum) look very nice and suitable to a party.

If you are a dark coloured lady or gentleman you look good in very light yellowish T-shirt and light green coloured or light blue-green colour trousers do well. Always remember to wear dark colored trousers and light coloured shirts if you want to look like professional.

So are the ladies. They look nice with light, very light green or very light yellowish saris and matching blouses.

If the party is in the night the best colour is white. There would be nothing better than a white colour in a night party.

There are some exceptions however. If it is a much closed enclosure, with more number of people, inside a normal house,       orange, light brick red coloured sari would make you look younger. It gives a reddish reflection on your face. If you are tall you have to use wide border ones.

Night time casual parties are not suitable to wear any dresses with lines and stripes.

Gentlemen look better with dark trousers and milky white shirts or a very light coloured T-shits if it is summer.

Ladies do well to wear their best watches. Ladies wearing an expensive wrist watch without jewels look very special even in a casual party.

In a casual party how much simple and neat you look is very important. At the same without standing out in the crowd like’an odd man out”, you should wear very expensive cloths. Do not wear suits. Your cloths should look like casual wears yet they shall look special and appealing.

In your cloths you should look fresh and happy.

You should use fresh lavender type of perfume not a strong one. It should have very light smell like that of’BRUT’ for men. Men should not use “cobra” category perfumes for a casual party. But “axe” with burnt wood smell may suit extremely well.

Women can use sandalwood smelling perfumes and must be applied very light.
