This is probably one of the worst Sly Stallone movie I have seen in a long time. Give me a break guys! What is this movie about?
We have Bo Brandenburg, a race car driver who ditched his fiancee of 3 years coz he now finds that she is distracting him from his winning the World Car Racing Championship.
Then we have Jimmy Bly, rookie race car driver. He’s definately good but whats his problem? His brother cum manager giving him a hard time? not letting him relax?
Next comes Jo Tanto (Sly Stallone) and hes a burned out race car driver who just doesn’t have it in him anymore but Jimmy Blys sponsor (played by Burt Reynolds) thinks that Jo can ’’do’’ something for Jimmy?
Everyones after the championship and the balance keeps tilting towards Bo whos a stoney-faced stuck-for-words man still in love with his fiancee but doesn’t know how to get her back.
Jimmy had it in him but he keeps making mistakes and keeps losing the races. So they bring in Jo Tanto who seems to have a past which never emerges throughout the movie and has an ex-wife who is now married to his counterpart Memo Merino.
Jo used to be the best until something brought him all the way to the bottom. A case of sticking 3 coins at high speed on the car tyres and a race down the streets of Detroit, brings the two ’’stars’’ of the movie together for a briefing into what Jimmy wants in life and what Jo can help him with. Puhleeze! This movie is pathetic. Don’t waste your time buddies.
They get into their cars and they begin to race. Finito! There is no story ladies and gentlemen. Go Home.
