Drona - Music

The music credit for the album throws a duo’s name “Ashutosh-Dhruv”. **Who?

* I have not heard about them much either. The Google says they are in the industry for long now and have done some songs and jingles. And, yes they have their own band. Hmmm. Impressive.

So. A new name, I was expecting to hear something different! DIFFERENT. I know it’s a crime to expect something like this. Indeed a Big expectation for Hindi movie, though at least “Thoda Hatke” was all I wanted. Was my wish fulfilled? Not quite. We have been hearing similar music in recent times… Did I say it sounds like Pritam’s music?

But, anyways I am more interested in listening good music; I care least, if it was picked up from somewhere. At least I heard it, thanks for the Inspiration that our music directors get so often.

Drona – Ok, the best thing about this title song is Dhruv’s voice. Fresh, Husky and Luky Aliish. The song is pretty ok title song, because as we know title songs have their own limitations. The music is peppy. 3.5/5.0

Oop Cha – An attitude song with not much of attitude from Sunidhi, but the song is just another regular song. Not much to write about. And, they have made a remix of this song too. **2.5/5.0

Bandagi – A slow and supposedly soothing one. Sunidhi has done justice to song so has Roop Kumar Rathod. The song is good, but you have the feeling that you have heard it before. **3.25/5.0

Nanhe Nahe – Sadhna Sargam has given this Lata Aunty’s feel to the song. A typical “Mamma Sunaye Kahani” song. Good hearing. 3.0/5.0

Khushi – Shaan, Wow! You have very few singers in industry with this smooth ‘makkhan’ like voice. Decent song, only because Shaan has sung it. Again, music is an ordinary one. **3.0/5.0

Drona Redux** – The remix is good and Sunidhi has rendered it quite as well as Dhruva. Good run of the mill song. 3.5/5.0

Oop Cha(Remix) – Why do they name the remixes with strange sounding names. Now this is called “Fare Play Mix”, seriously, I don’t know why. May be, just to make it Different. 2.0/5.0

Overall, the album is quite ordinary. Let’s see how the movie fares. I have always been a baby fan of AB Baby, so to promote him, I bought the album anyways. The other reason is that Goldie Behl is husband of my childhood crush Sonali Bendre, so just to keep her happy…. )

If you are not either of these, please…. Don’t Buy Plastic. Save the World.

Disclaimer:I am just a layman and have ordinary ears. I do not have any expertise or whatsoever in music. This is just what I feel about the music of this album. The people associated with this album have spent their life making music. Please respect their passion and buy originals to keep them motivated to make much more beautiful music.
