I wouldnt give an entirely bad review about DTDC because I personally found it reliable for domestic couriers (sent one to Kannur, Kerala and another to Dwarka, Delhi and both recipients got it within 2-3 working days)...however, I would advise against using it for international services, especially if youre sending documents like academic transcripts and expensive gifts.
My experience recently began like this; I required my university transcripts and had to ask my junior to apply on my behalf and courier it to my home address in Kuwait. I thought of asking her to use Blue Dart but she used DTDC instead because it was cheaper.their online tracking showed me it had reached Dubai on Saturday (so I wasnt very worried.. since kuwait and dubai are neighbouring countries and It could hardly take more than a day. WRONG! it reached on aug 3rd and arrived on August 7th! (yesterday).
But I was just glad that it had reached at all.and I opened it to check if it was all in order..so yeah..for my courier it took about a week entirely. So if you want 100% reliability , speed and good service , go for Blue Dart or Fedex. I havent used India post so I dont know how it works. All in all, I thought my experience was good compared to other reviews I read. But if you dont mind spending more then go for a better service than DTDC.
Another complaint I do have is they honestly dont know how to speak to customers.. were made to wait for minutes at a stretch on the phone as they keep directing you to different people and all of them seem to have no clue how to track and give a satisfying answer.you have to keep mailing and following it up with phone calls in order to ensure theyre not just warming their seats with your courier!
Hope this helped.
