A consignment was booked by me from Mumbai to Bagnan (Dist. Howrah, WB) on 03-Dec.
Till 13-Dec, the package containing important documents related to legal items were not delivered despite several calls to Mumbai Customer Service (who definitely tried to help).
The local DTDC distributor (one Mr.Debashis) in Bagnan REFUSED to deliver the consignment, despite the consignee’s address being merely 2kms from his location.
On 11-Dec-2012, this DTDC delivery point even called the consignor (my father, a senior citizen, 80+ years) to verify the address & location. Despite this, when I called DTDC Bagnan (Mr.Debasish), he bluntly refused to deliver saying he could not get through the number & unable to locate address(ironically, when DTDC Customer Service called the same number today, they spoke to the consignee very clearly, in a single shot)
Funnily enough, this same DTDC (but other person) a few months back delivered couple of parcels to the same address!!!! Just for information, the address is located on the main road of a popular residential area (infact the only one proper residential block).
Sadly enough, my father, who is 80+ years old, had to go a pick up the consignment (that too Debasish, who mentioned he could not contact the given numbers earlier, called the same number to ask my father to come & collect else he would return it to Mumbai !!!!!!! Such an unscrupulous person)
PATHETIC SERVICE from DTDC. Next time onwards will use others - even SPEEDPOST is a far better option than DTDC.
