Absolutely unreliable courier company

This is regarding the consignment#Z27140331. I couriered it on 15-Jul-2014 for Dalsinghsarai, Samastipur, Bihar. I was assured that the courier will reach its destination within 3 working days. But when it did not reach till the end of 20th Jul, I called DTDC Noida customer care number in the evening. I was asked to contact next day after 10:00 am. So, I called at 11:00 am the next day but this time I was told that the packet had reached Patna but not left for Samastipur and therefore I should call Patna customer care number . It was really a pathetic response.


Anyway, when I called Patna number, I was told that the contact was not available so it was returned. This was another contradictory statement because the person to whom I had sent the courier stays with a big family and there are always 2-3 people at home at any time. Furthermore, I asked DTDC whether the person was called and informed that there was a parcel for him - the answer was, ’No’ as the delivery boy gets only Rs.1.50 for delivering a courier. You can imagine what kind of company DTDC is! Finally I went to DTDC centre(Mobile:+918800445579/+918375053539) where I had booked the courier and requested to return me the parcel. Now, for last 6 days I have been asking him and getting the same reply that it has reached Delhi and it will be received in his office soon.


I wrote to DTDC on  26-July through Feedback option available on the web site. I described how I have been struggling to get my parcel back but nothing has been done regarding the issue.


I am planning to take this matter to the Consumer Court of India and I have been assured by some of my friends that this is a clear case of negligence from DTDC and therefore I will definitely get the combined compensation of all losses(time, money and the mental torture due to all this).


I am regretting my decision to send my parcel through DTDC. This is to educate people of fraud practice by such companies. Probably these companies do their best to provide service to corporate customers but they treat general public as 2nd class customers because general public never raise their voice against their malpractice. Government postal service is still the best
