Ducati Monster 797 – Entry-Level Beast With Italia

If you’re entering the world of premium motorcycles and considering a Ducati, the Monster 797 is a fantastic place to start. I’ve had the pleasure of riding this bike for a few months now, and here’s my honest review:

Performance ( 4.8/5) :

Powered by an air-cooled 803cc L-twin engine, the Monster 797 delivers a smooth, torquey ride. It’s got that signature Ducati rumble and linear power delivery, making it fun in the city and capable on highways. The clutch is a bit heavy in traffic, but gear shifts are crisp and the throttle response is impressive.

Handling & Ride Comfort ( 4.5/5) :

The trellis frame, upright seating, and wide handlebars give great control. It handles corners beautifully and feels stable even at high speeds. The seat is slightly firm, but overall comfort is good for both city and short touring rides.

Design & Build Quality ( 5/5) :

It’s a Ducati – the design speaks for itself. The retro-modern look, minimalistic headlamp, exposed frame, and bold tank make it a head-turner everywhere. The build quality is top-notch with premium materials all around. This bike truly feels like a work of art.

Braking & Safety ( 4.8/5) :

Equipped with Brembo brakes and dual-channel ABS, the braking is sharp and confidence-inspiring. Even in emergency situations, the bike stays well under control.

Mileage ( 3.5/5) :

Let’s be real – this isn’t meant to be a fuel-efficient bike. I get around 18–20 km/l in the city and a little more on highways. If you’re buying a Ducati, you’re looking for experience, not mileage.

Value for Money ( 4.2/5) :

For around ₹; 9–10 lakhs on-road, you get the premium Ducati experience, stunning looks, and solid performance. It’s not cheap, but for an entry-level Ducati, it delivers a lot of bang for the buck.

Verdict:

The Ducati Monster 797 is a perfect blend of style, heritage, and usability. If you’re looking to step into the superbike world with something iconic, thrilling, and manageable, this bike won’t disappoint.
