When you have the chance to visit Duinrell in Wassenaar (Netherlands) – I suggest you’ll spend the whole day there. It is a lot of fun. A large playground for kids up to 12 years, and lots of attractions for the “older kids”.
As I write this, I am watching the Mad Mill go round. Believe me – I have joined a ride in that thing. It is totally awesome.
Nearby you can find the Splash. If you like to take a total refreshment in the form of wet clothes; go stand on the bridge and watch! You’ll get soaked, I assure you. When the boat hits the water, you’ll need dry clothes.
The newest in the park is the Water Spider. Not for me today, I just had lunch. The spider is tossing and turning you around, upside down and back, and I have seen faces of people, happy to get out… I believe Mad Mill is my favourite for today.
But… if you are tired from all the excitement, you can search a comfortable couch and sit down for a while. In this environment, relaxing is great while being in the shadow of trees, there are trees enough in the park.
The park is well taken care of, and there is a swimming pool nearby, called Tiki-bad. Two hours swimming is included in the entrance payment.
Okay…I give up. I’ll take a “splash” and be back in a short while…
The splash – quite simple it is an easy way to get awfully wet in a few seconds. Nothing more. But it sure is unbelievable to see how many people actually do get wet. Standing on the bridge, you’ll see them waiting for the boat to come. A “shower” in one second. Amazing!
The playground is lovely for kids, to entertain themselves. Painted in beautiful colours, and nearby there is enough room, for parents to sit and watch, and have something to drink if they like to. There is a lot to do for all members of the family in the park. We will be going back again when the vacation starts, I assure you!
