Every movie which had been remade from telugu blockbusters has utterly bombed at the box office . Initially I felt that it would break the jinx . But it too miserably failed.
The movie was first made in tamil with Vikram as the hero . It was a very sucessful movie . Then it was remade into telugu under the title ’’Sreeram’’ with Uday Kiran in the lead role with Anitha (changed her name as Natassha in kuch to hai and yeh dil ) . It was a highly sucessful and won critical acclaim for well execution of the plot .
Dum produced by cineyug which was set up in 1985 meanders in the same trusted masaledar track of bollywood .
Uday (Vivek Oberoi) aims to become a police officer.
But wait , this is a hindi movie , there is police officer by name Shankar who confronts him.Shankar’s devilish intentions rivals that of the noble intentions of Uday.
Shankar is after Uday as the latter beats him black-and-blue when he teases Uday’s lover.Infuriated by this incident , he plans to kill Uday .
Knowing of the evil intentions of Shankar Uday stays away from him .
The rest of the storyline is expectable by any moviegoer.
I conclude by saying that E.Niwas has wasted the talent of Vivek.
