Dunkirk is directed by on of the greatest directors working today Christopher Nolan. The film is based on true events. Just like so many of his films Nolan is a master at telling stories in a way that keeps you at the edge of your seat. The Sound design in Dunkirk is Mind boggling. Everything from gunshots to the sound of Airplanes feel as if theyre actually happening around you. Nolan pulls you out of ur seat and brings you into his film with his incredible sound effects and Awesome Visuals. The movie is divided into three timelines and Nolan does a great job at making everything feel seemless. Dunkirk is surely a visual masterpiece but there are a few things that bugged me: The Movie is a bit slow and can get Boring at times. I can totally see people disliking the film because of that. Another gripe would be that the characters in the movie werent developed at all but I can let that pass because it was done on purpose as Nolan wanted to depict the event that took place at Dunkirk. The characters were definitely not developed at all and it does get a little tedious at times. In the end Dunkirk is a Masterpiece and its a very gripping and realistic experience. Not Nolans best work but a great film none the less.
