dus is made in the style of a regular hollywood action flick. and you gotta hand it to the director and editor for trying to be almost as good as a hollywood thriller! almost..
dus starts with an anti-terrorist cell headed by sanjay dutt, a guy with a nokia communicator and a compaq laptop as well as a girlfriend in shilpa shetty. if I forgot to tell you he is also the DIG of the cell. now dont even imagine our own desi DIGs doing things that he does. he is the father figure of the cell that comprises of a team of cops who want to eliminate terrorism. team members being abhishek bachchan, zayed khan and shilpa shetty among the few.
like the typical hindi movie, the ATC guys get a tipoff that some ’’jamval’’ character is planning to bomb a lot of indians on the 10th of May (which is why its called DUS) and they tell that to the minister and the next day the department is asked to shut down within a week (typical pHilmi style). now they have one week to go to canada and find this jamval character and stop him from creating chaos! they have just one clue that some assistant of his is involved in a car crash and is in some jail in canada and will be releasing in one day.
now abhishek and zayed leave to canada! the locales and the scenery is excellent and the music is too good. there they meet sunil shetty who first hunts them and then helps them and so on.
i am not going to reveal the plot at all ! I just want to say that the scenes and the music is excellent, and the cops look much bigger than the sarkari ones that we see in the real world. pankaj kapoor, the supposed assistant of the crimelord acts brilliantly as an innocent, poor man forced into a life of crime. the music and effects are just too good and the comedy isnt bad either. the special effects and action scenes are a thing that will be loved by anyone who loves an action movie.
in all, keeping aside the ’bigger than reality’ factor and overacting factor the movie is pretty good. that is, if we forget the fact that these people are INDIAN cops on a mission .. then we have one good movie with plenty of entertainment comedy and action.
guys, just dont use your brains. look at the scenes, look at the action, listen to the music and enjoy the show. thank god for once there are no scenes are may not be suitable for children. this is a movie that you can watch with your family as well as your friends and girlfriend(s) !
