Dhoom mach Gayaa !!!!
Mind boggling ! These are the words which came in my mind as soon as I walked out of theatres screening Anubhav Sinha’s DUS ! There is no denying that this is one of the most exhilarating thriller produced by Bollywood ever ! Everything is just perfect in this joy ride which lasts for 2.30 hrs .After bearing all those recent craps in the name of entertainment , DUS is like a fresh air which refreshes you and provides value for the money !
To state that DUS takes Hindi cinema all together to new horizon will be understatement .The film is international in all sense and rightly so ! This is one of the most gigantic biggie ever made and totally lives upto the expectations .Director Anubhav Sinha who is alien to this genre of film making surprises you with his handling of the subject and does not disappoint you one bit !
The film is filled with several twists and turns, but not so many that the plot becomes difficult to swallow or to follow . The subplots – and there are several – are as well-developed as the main story .
Although there is nothing new in the story of the film , its the treatment which comes as a bolt from blue .
Terrorism is the current favourite topic in the world and DUS also talks about the same .Another factor that goes with the film is that subject is very similar to RECENT BOMB BLASTS IN LONDON which is fresh in mind of one and all and that’s why it is easy to connect with the subject ! And just now , I have heard that there has been another blast today !!
The film starts on electrifying note with DUS BAHANE songs and as it moves ahead we get to see that terrorists are executing plan in Canada to kill 25 , ooo people at once ! The Anti Terrorist Cell (ATC) running in Delhi gets information about this and has to fail it !
The head of the cell (Sunjay Dutt) now aims to execute his plans from both the country , Canada and India .To do so , he sends two of his agent Abhisekh Bachchan [his brother] and Zayed Khan to Canada where they will be receive by Neha [Esha Deol].Shilpa Shetty is also part of this mission .
As things unfold, they realise that an international terrorist, Jamvaal [Pankaj Kapoor or Gulshan Grover -that’s the suspense !], is the man behind this plan.
The problem is that time is running out and so are the clues. And now begins the dangerous game.......
I am not revealing much as this one deserves to be seen unlike recent disasters FAREB and YAKEEN .
DUS keeps you engrossed throughout the film .There are no boring moments in the film whatsoever and there is some IT factor attach with it and the stylish execution proves icing on the cake .It is far better than those MUSAFIR and ELAAN types of movies .
Another factor where film works in a big way is cinematography .Canada has never looked so beautiful in Hindi Movies and action are just superb .Especially in the climax , when a plane crashes in the sea !
Performances are of high order !
Abhisekh is a treat to watch .Mainly in the climax when he gives up his life to save life of thousands .This is his third super hit in a row with BUNTY AUR BUBLI , SARKAR this year .
Sanjay Dutt does not impress much in the initial portions but leaves you spellbound in the scene where he is watching the death of his own brother [Abhisekh] ! His new look only adds to his personality .
Zayed Khan provides much needed relief in the film .Especially in the sequence where he is trapped in car with Bomb ! He is just so funny .
Sunil Shetty does not impress .But Shilpa Shetty does ! She is infact the lifeline of the film and she should act in big budget movies rather than D grade movie like FAREB .
Diya Mirzaa has nothing to do expect being kidnapped and released .But she is stunning beauty ! Raima Sen looks horrible and does not impress .Esha Deol plays negative role yet again after DHOOM and must say it has been quite lucky for her as both DUS and DHOOM have proved super hit !
Pankaj Kapoor is okay but he does raise some laugh in comic portions .Gulshan Grover is terrific ! His look is scary !
In short , DUS is an example of high quality of cinema which is a must see. A Popcorn entertainer !!
Don’t go by negative reviews , they are totally biased ! And as expected , it has taken the best opening so far in the history of Indian cinema beating all K3GS and BUNTYS BABLIS!
WARNING:
Don’t ever dare to watch this film on small screen .It is one of those few Hindi Movies which are made for big screen .Otherwise you may find it bit dragging and boring !
