Sunday afternoons can be lazy, boring or tiring depending on what you are doing…my Sundays are usually in bed…sleeping…!!! This time around I decided to venture something different….yes; I will make an effort and get a CD for a film…which one??? Iqbal it has to be…because of the umpteen good reviews the film has got… I went up to the cheeky shopkeeper (selling pirated CD’s in full public view!!!) …he looks at me expectedly… ”Kaunsi CD chaihiye, madam?” I smile and ask for Iqbal…he looks shocked to say the least… ”Madam, James hain, Siskiyan(???) hain, but Iqbal nahin”… I am heartbroken now… ”.Koi achchi film hain…???”…”Madam, Sisikiyan le jayiye”… he surely has a secret commission in that film… I ask for something less controversial. “Dus, Salaam Namaste, Sarkar bhi hain…but Siskiyan original CD mein hain...”... I am off it now…” give me Dus then”…he smiles sheepishly and give me the CD…
So here I am now…writing a review of the film that I never intended to watch…it required a great amount of motivation to sit back and watch an action thriller when you are interested in watching some motivational, inspirational small budget film…but in the end…it was worth the effort and money…paisa wasool !!!
Dus is action packed to say the least…The storyline revolves around a mission, which is coded as JEET…no idea who has planned it and what it is…ATC (Anti terrorist cell) has to decode the mission and fail it as well…most of the film works around ATC and it’s activities… (I am more than willing to join such an organization if I find such handsome hunks roaming carelessly here and there…!) Coming back to the film, the main characters are:
1.Siddhant-Sanjay Dutt-He can carry of that look for ages now…40 something but still looks hot…he doesn’t have much role in here….but then who cares for the role when he wears that smile to die for…he looks tempting….
2.Aditya-Zayed Khan-He has a role that suits him well…sweet, smiling guy who any girl would like to date…not me…
3.Shashank-Abhishek Bachchan-He has the meatier role…he shows a lot of attitude which is required in the film…you somehow just get glued on him…as always!!! Girls watch the film for him…
4.Danish-Sunil Shetty- a small role, again aptly done…not much fuss with this actor…
5.Aditi-Shilpa Shetty- She looks dapper in her role…sexy work clothes makes her look glamorous and chic… she has a waist which we girls only dream of…men can drool of course…
6.Esha Deol & Diya Mirza- Esha’s tanned look is IN after Dhoom…Diya doesn’t have much in there as well…she has to look good n she manages that well…
7.Pankaj Kapur- a seasoned actor who is as usual good in whatever he does…his performance is well up to the mark as always…watch out for him…
Songs:
1.The film begins with a groovy song “Dus Bahane”… now if you are a girl/woman/lady who likes good looking people…you cant resist this song…it has the irresistible Abhishek and Zayed…both look hot and happening…
2.The other song it has “Cham se who aa jaye”… Shilpa looked sexy in that one…but my focus again is on Abhishek, Zayed and Sanjay…in that order…
3.The last song is “Deedar de” …another disco song with excellent choreography and nice beats…the girl looks like a musclewoman but she dances well…the song is picturised well…
Overall the music is hot and sizzling…Vishal and Shekhar do a good job, yet again…kudos to them!!!
The film is a delight to watch if you are looking for some fast paced action stuff…good looking men and some nice songs…do not dwell too much into the storyline and you will like it…The director of Dus is Anubhav Sinha who is known for his fascination for Canada, good music, young hot looking men and excellent film locales….you get it all here…
Watch the film if you wish to spend a leisurely afternoon with your mom and dad or your buddy…!!!
