Vishal and Shekhar have done it again. After Kaante and Musafir, this is their third album for a THRILLER movie. And they have again shown that they are the masters of this genre.
Here is my review for the album
Music: Vishal and Shekhar
Lyrics: Panchhi Jalonvi
In total, there are 13 tracks in the album, out of which, there are two remixes and one instrumental theme music.
Track-1 Dus Bahane : I don’t have enough words to describe this song. This is surely the best song of this year. KK and Shaan have wonderfully sung it. This is particularly going to be hit amongst the discotheque crowd. The video of this song is also really cool. Abhishek Bachchan and Zayed Khan are looking awesome.
There is an Extended version of this song, which is described later in the review.
Track-2 Deedar De : This song is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. Again a wonderful song sung with the typical Sunidhi style. It has a Sufi feel to it along with the western touch. The beats are foot-tapping.
There is a remix of this song which has been described later in the review.
Track-3 Chham Se Woh Aajaye : This song reminds me of Jatin-Lalit era. When you listen to this song you will certainly feel that you have heard it before, may be in a Yash Raj or a Dharma Production film. But hey then you realize that you are listening to a Vishal-Shekhar creation. The singers are Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Babul Supriyo, Sunidhi Chauhan and Sapna Mukherjee. The situation must be that of a family function, at least the lyrics suggest that. Good effort by singers but the song is somewhat boring.
Track-4 Unse Poochein : This song is a delight. Sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, a typical Bollywood Romantic number. When I heard this song for the first time, I thought I was listening to the soundtrack of Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai. I mean to say that this is also very unlike the Vishal-Shekhar-kinda music.
Track-5 Saamne Aati Ho : This is a typical Sonu Nigam ishtyle song. He is accompanied by Sunidhi Chauhan. The song has a very young feel to it. The couple is constructing “TAARIFON KE PUL” for each other.
Track-6 Jaaniya Ve : This is a soft and passionately romantic song. Sung by Hari Haran and Mahalaxmi Iyer, a soothing number is here to stay. This is a completely different song from all the other songs of the album.
Track-7 Dus Bahane (Extended): This is the extended version of Dus Bahane. The singers are same as Dus Bahane, KK and Shaan. The difference is that the first track has only one ANTARA and the extended version has one more ANTARA along with the previous one. Hence the extended version is of more duration.
Track-8 Adrenaline Nitrate (Dus Theme): This first seemed to be the name of a BIO-CHEMICAL. But when I listened to the track, I thought the name is justified. This instrumental piece is surely going to pump the adrenaline. A foot-tapping track which will surely make you hit the repeat button.
Track-9 Zalzala : This song is sung by Sukhwinder Singh in his typical high-note style. The lyrics perfectly match the theme of this film. The word “DUS” has been used more frequently in the song than “ZALZALA”. This is a fast paced number and you will love it if you are a Sukhwinder fan.
Track-10 Make Some Noise : This is also a theme based track. But guess what, this is an English song by Ranjit Barot. This is surely going to be as adrenaline pumping as Adrenaline Nitrate. Great job by Ranjit Barot.
Track-11 Alternate Trance : This is a track based on Western Classical Music. The singer is Caralisa Monteiro. I haven’t heard this type of a song in a Bollywood Movie Album ever. Good experiment by Vishal-Shekhar. I hope that the urban crowd will love it.
Track-12 Deedar De (Ranjit Barot Mix): This is the remix version of Deedar De sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. There is some more excitement and intensity in this remixed version.
Track-13 Get Into My Car : This is a rap mixed with techno and lounge music. Hip hop people will love this one. The singers are Caralisa Monteiro, Nandini Srikar and Earl D Souza. This is one of the best tracks of this album.
There is a lot of variety in this album. This is so far the best work of Vishal-Shekhar. The music of this film is surely going to lengthen the queues at the ticket counter. Now I am keenly looking forward to watch DUS.
All in all a must buy for all music lovers.
