Eagle Ridge : Nice stay in a nearby location

When we were searching for a weekend trip around Bangalore, this came up often, but there was not much review, at least recently, so we took the risk. and it mostly paid off.  We enjoyed the place throughout our stay(maybe because our expectations were not that much!).

Reaching there: Eagle Ridge is around 10km from Bommanahalli, Hosur Road, one of the nearest places for weekend. Just take the first right on NH after silk board junction, which is Begur road, and go straight, past Begur Church,  till you cross over NICE road, shortly after you will find the place on the right . The road is narrow but pretty okay except some construction areas and that last bumpy stretch. This is contrary to most of the older reviews so I guess the Begur road was laid recently. From Madiwala to the resort, it may take 20-30 min. Once you get into that area, it’s one of the most peaceful and serene atmosphere,  surrounded by interesting villas. Just walking around the place is quite refreshing and intriguing. Check-in was smooth and fast, and they are flexible with checkout timings.

Rooms: Though we paid for std room, they asked us to utilize the deluxe room which was quite big with BHK with some additional area, which was certainly nice gesture, considering we went with 2 kids. It has 3 separate beds(!) nice sofa, bean bag, tata sky, dining table, air cooler, kettle etc. But you could always find some damp walls, nonfunctional lights, worn out towels etc!

Service: This is the best part, always they will be checking on you esp. at restaurants, room service was prompt, there are guys at swimming pool to help, security guys always there etc.

Food: Overall good, but we felt at least one of the items esp. non-veg was "recycled", so beware!  Otherwise, thats always typical well-rounded menu, with average quality.

Facilities: Swimming pool was kept clean and reasonably sized. Then you have the typical indoor games room and lots of areas surrounded with trees where you can play shuttle or cricket. They got all the sports kits but they are mostly worn out. Bicycles  were there and we enjoyed riding on them and roam around the villas. Apart from these, nothing much to do.

So, overall a nice place to hangout if you want to quickly get out there and come back. Usual crowd seems to be corporate outings and large family get-together, so if you run into one, it gets really crowded and noisy!
