My wife booked a cab for travel at night.
The booking was confirmed for 9:30 pm. At 9:40 pm, Easycabs sent a message saying that the booking has been cancelled due to unavailability of cabs. Just like that. Imagine that as a woman you are stuck somewhere with no transportation late in the evening.
Now you have to fend for yourself and figure out alternatives or depend on dangerous auto drivers.
That’s what happens when one relies on cab companies like Easycabs.
I’ve always appreciated Easycabs service, which till now has been exemplary. I’ve used it a great many times to travel to the airport and sometimes within Bangalore city. But this incident is unforgivable: canceling a cab at the last minute, booked for a single woman traveler, that too at night, shows such an acute lack of sensitivity that there cannot be any excuse.
No effort was made to inform early.
No effort was made to send a cab late rather than cancel.
No effort was made to send a cab from a diff cab company.
I called up the call center and I got the answer that a booking is confirmed only 1 hour before the pickup time and this was indicated in the booking SMS. (Not true, my wife was specifically told that the cab is confirmed.) Moreover, a cancellation SMS was sent 10 mins after the pickup time, not 1 hour before.
So, I would say, avoid Easycabs, and find other alternatives. Like Meru, these guys are also extremely unreliable. Not only are they unreliable, they even blatantly lie about the facts. Avoid, avoid, avoid... unless you are desperate.
