I was really excited when Bharti Walmart decided to open their store in Pune but it didnt take long for me to be disappointed by the unprofessional attitude of the staff.
The Easyday store is all of one floor but their floor space is kinda decent compared to the Big Bazaar stores.Their strong points have to be their food section and maybe electronics.I mostly shop at the food section.It is one of a few places where you can buy meat products.When they initially started off they had all sorts of exotic meats like that of emu, turkey and even pork.Nowadays though its only fish .mutton and chicken and thats probably due to poor demand for the other meats.
Their fresh vegetables and fruits section is also pretty good though not all the stuff is fresh; you can find rotting stuff still being put up for sale , makes you wonder what kind of quality checks they have in place.
Their frozen food section is also pretty good.They have a bakery too which is nice and staff at the bakery are good.
Thats about all thats good at Easyday.Once youve done your shopping, comes the unpleasant part of billing it at the cashier.
The people manning the cashier dont seem happy at all about their job and would gladly tell you to move on the next counter .The other day , there was this counter, which is supposed to be meant for billing only 5-6 items but usually doesnt restrict itself so, that was free so I thought I would get my like 7-8 items billed there but the moment I reached the counter the lady told me my cart was above the limit and promptly left her counter , so I had to go and wait for another 10 mins at another counter.However when the lady returned to her counter I saw her billing customers who had carts loaded with stuff, it really pissed me off! These people should learn how to be professional from BigBazaar.
Another irritating thing at checkout is that they never have change so its best you use your debit/credit card.Sometimes they make you purchase unwanted stuff just to cover the change, really annoying!
The plastic bags they have are really small ones like the type your kirana store keeps, quite ridiculous!
To end , if any of the easyday admin are reading this, I would just like to say that being customer friendly doesnt mean making all your employees wish "good morning/afternoon/evening" to your customers.Frankly customers do not care about being greeted , all we want is good sincere service.
is that too much to ask ?
