I have bought from ebay.com when I was in US and based on the same trust bought something from ebay India when I came back to India. Big mistake! If your product works you’re lucky or if you’re one of the unlucky like me then you have to go through one of the worst customer service experience of your life every day until your issue is resolved(or like in my case may never get resolved.)
Looks like they have tie ups with some sellers to sell faulty products and then will make sure the customer will get the product repaired using the manufacturer warranty by traveling to the nearest service center using their own money and time. Works perfectly for them, because you cannot do anything legally in our broken legal system to challenge them. God save our country!
Like the google chromecast I bought a month ago, I have used this product before in US and I know how it works. But when I bought it here, from the moment I connected it to the TV I know it is not working. First I was asked to contact the seller, seller asked me to contact google technical team, spent two days with them troubleshooting using different steps, finally they gave up saying this is a faulty product(even manufacturer reset didn’t work).
Again contacted the seller, no response. Raised a ebay claim and for the last one month, making calls to the ebay customer support team like a beggar. After some herculean efforts, they agreed to schedule a return pick up of the product and I thought it is over only to realize that it was just a false hope. It has been two weeks now after they agreed to take the product back, every time I call some one tells me I will get a call within 24 hours. Days pass but no one calls.
Now I know for sure a police complaint or suing them will be a mad option because nothing will work unless you have some big political backing or enough money to spend for years which is not worth in this case as the product itself is only Rs.2000.
