EBay appears to be a big brand in India; and like many others I fell for the trap. Bought an item with eBay Guarantee. Turned out that the item was fake. The fact was established - ebay accepted the fraud on the part of the merchant - and promised me a refund of 110% of the transaction value in form of ebay coupons within 7 business days.
Now almost 1 month is over, have written several times to ebay - chatted with Customer Support - and got only false promises. Here is summary of the dates.
27-Apr-2014: Bought the item.
30-Apr-2014: Got the product. Posted Query to seller about the received product which did not meet the specifications posted on the website. Got false reply same day.
01-May-2014: Reposted Query with proof which falsifies his [seller] statement. No reply.
02-May-2014: Contacted Customer Support about how to solve the case.
03-May-2014: Raised claim [Claim ID: 490830].
10-May-2014: Claim resolved in my favour with 110% coupon which was promised to be delivered within 7 working days.
21-May-2014: Did not receive any coupons - again contacted Customer Support. SR# 1-26678332284 - who promised me delivery within 72 hours.
26-May-2014: Did not receive any coupons - again contacted Customer Support: SR# 1-27020355494 - who said the issue will be resolved within this week. On asking more questions he terminated the conversation.
