I made the mistake of buying a diary cover case for my mobile through ebay.in from seller cell_covers-etc for Rs 1545. The payment was made online and product got delivered in few days promptly. On opening I found the case to be broken and unusable and it appears that seller had sent the broken item.
As the purchases are covered under paisa pay guarantee, I promptly filed a refund claim id no. 290781 on 29 Sept 2013. No claim was processed till 11.10.2013 and I got an email on 11.10 that I need to take further action on providing proof that item is broken.
I had already sent the photograph of broken case twice by email to ebay and could not understand what more they needed. I called ebay on their toll free no. 18002093229 and can you believe I was on hold till 45 minutes - I am typed this while listening to their hold music on the speakerphone.
I have past good experience of buying through ebay but this is the first time I had to make a claim and it appears that ebay has no intention to make a refund on delivery. The ebay customer service is pathetic and rotating may call from one executive to another and on 40 minutes of hold I talked to about five different executives including their supervisor.
I would recommend all to beware of their false promises of purchases being covered by any sort of guarantee as if the items are broken or not as described...your money is gone. Purchases from ebay are BIG RISK.
