It’s actually been 1.5 years since my last purchase on ebay. My first purchase was Fujifilm S2800 High Zoom Camera. The Seller was based out of Bangalore and I got the product delivered in flat 3 days. I was a happy & satisfied customer.
The above incident moralized my theory that all sellers uphold their end of aggrement & even if some problems do happen, ebay buyer protection will help me out. With this confidence in mind I ordered a fastrack watch worth Rs 1800.
The seller was based out of Noida & the shipping time was listed as 5 days. I waited and kept on waiting till 10 days. But the goods never arrived. I called up the seller and asked him what was the problem. He mentioned the courier was delayed and he had received the parcel back & he is going to send it again. Again I waited, it became 2 weeks and there was no sign of any parcel, and on top of it the seller had stopped picking up my calls.
Finally getting frustuated I lodged a complaint with ebay and tried getting my money back. I was in no mood for getting the watch now. EBay representatives called me up and said a decision will be taken within 7 working days and I would be informed.
After 7 days, I was informed that the ruling was done in the seller’s favour and I had accepted the watch, but was making false claims.
I was shocked by the outgrageous allegations. It wasn’t the money that mattered, it was principle. And this was the last time I ever opened EBay. In my friends circle I am know as a shopalohic & gadget freak and most of my friends still get apprehensive about using their CC while paying or odering online. I always advise them for C.O.D & purchasing from reputed sites like Flipkart or Shopclues or Myntra. Atleast you are sure u receive the goods. For me, I always pay by CC but never again EBay. Never Again.
