PLEASE NOTE: This is just a complaint and may not be considered as a full-fledged review (as I haven’t analyzed the website going point-by-point)
First day, when I registered on Ebay.in, on date 8th of march 2011, I was very happy but anxious too at the same moment, about the biggest transaction to start with a site, which I was trying for the first time. I buy a WD 1TB external hard-disk, and I received it in just 2 days. I was like, on the 9th sky, again ordered a PD, which is very cheap, and got it in 3-4 days, slow shipping but still fast from many websites. And then I ordered a Webcam from Tej-india, delhi Shop. But they were not able to ship it for next 4 days, and then I got a reply that a theft has taken place at their storehouse, and they cannot deliever the product, so they will be refunded my money. And surprizingly, I got my money back the next day itself. Real fast. Again I ordered webcam from some other store named "The DVD Store Delhi", based at Chandigarh, and I not only got a reply regarding the order from them but also got the thing in 4 days.
But then why I am against ebay, for a -ve review. Ebay works good, provide authentication through "PAISAPAY" transaction, where it was said that only when you receive an item and confirm its reciept on our website, then only the seller will get their amount. Good enough for buyers!, BUT WE NEED TO CONFIRM THE RECIEPT. Now, here I did a mistake, and it took only one and half-a-day, they suspended my account. I can say, that good and committed Ebay handlers, doing good job, in ensuring safety, but within 2 days they suspended an account. Everybody is working (as far as I know), and it takes some time for a guy to logon to such websites, and to provide feedback, but either the seller, or the ebay, didn’t waited long enough. They have a policy for a seller, that a seller has to ship his product within 7 days of payment, also after shipping they have 7 more days to reach the item at the shipping address, then why it is not same for Buyer. I will confirm the receipt of product when I actually receive it, not before that, and they have not waited even 2 days...
Now, here come the funny part - there is an option to enquire about suspension, by sending a mail. I did that, and this is what I got the reply, "We’ve looked at our records and see that eBay suspended your account due to violations of the eBay User Agreement. We’ve reviewed your suspension appeal and have decided that your eBay account will remain suspended. Our decision is based on evidence from our records as well as any additional information you’ve provided. Due to eBay policy, we cannot provide you with more specific information" Now let me ask you, did anyone of you found the exact reason of suspension of the account. It just said, you violated the User Agreement, but User Agreement has many points, so exactly which point was violated, was not communicated to me before suspension, even no mail was triggered to my mailbox at suspension (as they said). But they also added one more line, to put the last nails into their coffins "Note Although we will read any future appeals you send, we may not respond to your inquiries." NOW THAT IS RUDE.
You suspend anybody’s account without mentioning exact reason, and in reply of question simply saying, "we may not reply to your mails", then what the heck customer support is there in EBAY. It should be banned immediately, paying the customer support guys, when you are not providing any customer support. And is this the way to talk to a customer! And why did you provide an option on your website, for revoking suspension of account, or an option to ask their customer support about reasons for suspension. Even before asking everybody knows that they must have violated some policy rule only, that’s why their account is suspended, nobody is a fool now-a-days, but who is going to provide exact reasons.
All-in-all, now my account is "BLOCKED" permanently, since I dare to ask the reason (and I ask because I haven’t did any mistake, I paid for everything)
So my take - PLEASE AVOID EBAY.IN, because the buying is not everything, reasons are also required.
