The advertisements made by Baazee.com led me to become a member of the website. It was in May 2001. I was not looking forward to buy. Because it did not allow credit card or anything. So I started off by selling.
First I had to verify myself giving my credit cards details, which they would check with the registered address. The verification was a breeze. Now the verification process has changed. Now, the baazee.com staff calls you up and verifies everything.
Selling, in true but rough words, is tough. I tried to put some products. But, there were many other products which were made to be on the top of the lists(by paying baazee ’’Listing’’ fees). I wanted to pay baazee.com, so I mailed at service@baazee.com and told them. They said that it was open to only ’’SuperSellers’’.
The terms for being a SuperSeller were:
You need to have 15 sales done
The ratio of postive:negative (ratings) should not exceed 5:1.
The last three transactions should be crystal clear.
4. All fees to baazee.com must be paid.
OK. But there was’nt enough space for me to make 15 sales. The other factors eventually could not be fulfilled.
My crooky mind lit up. I created multiple IDs on baazee.com and made purchases of my own products and got some ratings. But baazee.com detected the crime and suspended most of my accounts. I tried many ways. All of which ended up ’’Cracked’’.
Finally, I gave up the idea of selling and started buying. This was an experience that can be called ’’Nice’’, in the best sense of the word. By the time I was trying to be a seller, baazee.com had introduced new features such as ’’Credit Card’’ and ’’bank transfer’’. I bought a game CD for Rs. 125, paid by credit card and everything was done. The product reached me in 4 days. Impressed with the service I have made many purchases till date and I am satisfied with it.
Shipping And Credit Card Charges
This is the most annoying<i/> part of baazee to many of its users. Their demand is that no other online shops charge these, whereas baazee does.
If we think deeply, baazee is better. The seller is in Mumbai and so are you. So why pay the shipping charges of All Over India.
The other websites dont charge any shipping charge, only by words. They cant give you shipping for free. What they do is, they put all the costs into the item. For example, if the shop is situated in Delhi, they get better profits if the buyer is from Delhi. We end up paying the same even when we are closer to the shop.
This makes many items cheap.
Credit Card & Other Charges
These charges are also good. The other online shops dont charge this amount. Like shipping charges, these are also added to the item. If a user pays by ATM deposit, it is cheap for him. The seller does not need to pay any ’’Bank Charges’’ for this. So, in the long run, its the buyer who benefits. If he pays by Credit Card, only then he pays for the Extra.
Baazee is safe. A trustable atmosphere has been maintained by its staff. I would definitely recommend baazee to others.
MMS Case
Baazee had nothing to do. A person is allowed to sell on the website only after verification. Verification is done so that the seller Its nothing like our Goverment ishtyle, so the item is there on the site just as the seller uploads it.
So the seller uploaded the stuff.
Buyers bought it.
Police spotted it.
CEO was arrested for selling the thing !!!
He was not selling !! He gave a person space to sell. He has kept identity proof of that person and the seller has also signed a legal binding claiming responsibility of what he sells. CEO told police but Police is after all..............nevermind!!
I will tell you one real story. In aroung 95, indian police caught the first case of software piracy....a floppy was coppied....THREE CHEERS TO POLICE....
To maintain evidence and records or whatever, they stapled the floppy on to the documents containing the records of evidences !!!
