The award for the worst and absolute nightmare customer experience forever goes to ebay.in. Hats off to the management to run such a callous and indifferent organization and fraud company.
My experience has been a forgettable and worst one which has prompted me to write my ever and first review. Hope someone is listening at ebay
I had ordered a Sony play station for my sons birthday on Oct 21st and while placing the order I had entered a different shipping address. On making the payment and on the receipt I had seen that the shipping address was my billing address and not the one I wanted. Within 3 minutes of making a net payment I informed ebay authorities through a feedback and ebay seller through a feedback mail. I called up ebay customer service, after being on hold for 18 minutes I was told by the person(I wouldnt dare call him a customer service person) told me that ebay could do nothing about it and gave me the contact number of the seller. On calling up the seller(all this happening within 25 minutes of placing an order and making a net payment of 15000) I was told by the seller that he cannot do anything about it as it is a software generated order and cannot change a thing about it.
Was totally shocked as within 20 minutes of placing an order, I cannot do anything about it and left it at ebays hands to sort it out.
I could not gift the desired item for my sons birthday and later I started following up with the seller couple of times. he said the product is not shipped and it will initiate a refund process within 5 days. On Oct 29 I received an email stating that an automatic refund has been initiated and was quite joyed to see this mail. But little did I know that the best part about ebay was yet to come.
Till now I have followed up with the ebay customer service call centre for 4 times, with over 75 minutes of hold music and 3 fake assurances of escalating and 2 fake assurances of receiving a call back from them. I have not seen a penny, not received a call, not received a mail, not received any response from ebay so far. Date 21st Nov - Exactly one month after I paid 15000 for a product I have not received. I would be only glad enough to post this review on other ecommerce player so that everyone gets to know how professionally these services are run. Only thing glad about it is that the govt. has decided to bring them under consumer law purview.
I have ordered through fabfurnish, amazon, groupon, jabong, myntra etc. Never ever had such an experience with any of them. From other reviews here I have just come to know that I am not the only one. Too bad didnt care to read any reviews before I place my order.
Hope this mail can save someone from such an experience with ebay!
