Let me narrate my story. I had ordered an Amkette Keyboard and Mouse combo on Ebay lured by the attractive prices than other sites. But as it is their policy that they do not allow’cash on delivery’ I had to pay the amount of Rs 495/- through Allahabad Net Banking. At that time due to some problem in my phone I didn’t get the phone of Blue Dart to whom they shipped the Combo. Blue Dart who are given the address and which is not that difficult to find out, had conveniently decided to ring me few times and when they were unable to connect me they sent back the product to the seller. When I had not got the Combo for many days I contacted to ebay by an email as there were no phone facility. My email was answered by some consumer support executive who said we should receive a confirmation from the seller that your product is returned to him. I immediately contacted the seller. He said that he got his product and sent the message to ebay accordingly. Then the’Hide and Seek’ game of ebay started. They totally disappeared. I sent emails after emails. Some with hope and some with utter frustration. Then I could understand the policy of the online sellers that "You buy anything from us, if you by some luck get the product in good condition or at-least the product in whatever condition(in my case I had not) is OK. If you don’t get the product or a defective product do not bother us. At that inauspicious time we all get disappeared" This is the universal online sellers oath to their so called precious(as long as they are buying) customers, whether they are Flipkarters or Snapdealers, Ebayers or ShopCluers.
