I was thrilled with the one of the designs of Gautier and finally picked up the dining table on sale.
As the showroom piece was scratched, had asked the sales guy if he could arrange for a new piece. He confirmed he would and we picked up the table. This is what happened next:
1) Delivery time 1 week, upon delivery table in a shitty condition full of scratches, chairs with dirt on them.
2) Upon talking to the store manager, he says this is the best which we can do and since you picked up a table on sale, we are giving you some repaired table or some bullshit.
3) I ask the delivery boys to take the table back, lodge a complaint.
4) Call up the store asking for a replacement, to which they seem to have no clues as to how to handle me. I ask for refund. he says buy something else from the store.
5) After a lot of fiery talk and about a week later, they give me the number of their country head and ask me to sort out with him(seriously.).
6) The country heads first reaction. why call me(ok this nails the experience).
7) Anyway being patient. I pursue the country head and he says he will try and do something about it
8) after 2 weeks, I get an another table. looks like they polished the same one and now had lesser scratches. but a shitty looking Gautier by their standards.
9) I decide there is no point in pursuing the matter forward. my bad decision to go to Gautier in the first place or ask for a replacement. we end up covering the table with a table cloth.
Guys beware of their products. showroom pieces and sales guys look sophisticated. but when it comes to after sales service or executing their promises they suck. I had read a couple of their reviews on MouthShut and had thought this was a one off and still decided to go for them.
Lesson learnt. dont ever buy it even if they give it to you for free.
