Edward... a story that only people with any heart can understand. If you are going to try to compare this to any love story you have ever seen, then don’t bother watching it. Tim Burton has a great style of writing. Edward Scissorhands is all but a classic, as of yet. Yes, it is a love story but on different levels. A father’s love, a love for a woman? No, Edward was in love with being alive! A modern day Frankenstein or Pinnochio? Although left with a handicap of sorts; Edward learns to overcome what most of us have yet to learn... being unconditional. Whether it be in love, friendship or just living. He overcomes the one obstacle that seems to stumble us all. How to move on and still love life when things go horribly wrong. Memories are a wonderful thing if you let them. I hear people live wonderful lives because of them. Fortunately, we have the power to choose which ones we’d like to remember. Even bad ones can be good. This movie is more about the person we choose to live like the rest of our days. Even to love and lose is divine... if you let it.
