It's all in your head

Literally that is. A headache is simply muscles tensing up and causing pain and if you can learn to relax those muscles it will go away. When we are in pain we tend to tighten up more because it hurts and this increases the pain.

It is mind over matter. There are many things you can do. One thing that works for me is to lay down, put on some relaxing music and keep saying to myself relax, relax, relax until I actually do and then I am off and running again.

This is the same with any pain because you are in pain you automatically tense up more causing yourself further pain.

Meditation can help or anything that relaxes you. Put on your nice soft music, close your eyes and picture something that is soothing to you such as ocean waves and picture yourself there. Concentrate on that. There are many cassettes and cd’s available with nature sounds on them that you can get that will help to relax for any reason.

I have a machine I purchased for about fourty dollars that is a clock, a radio, has all the soothing sounds you can play to sleep to or just relax and it has the aroma unit with different crystals in for what you need them for. It is made by Zenith and is called aroma sound. I purchased mine at Sears but I am sure it is available elsewhere and it is wonderful for headaches, stuffed up heads or just about anything you can think of.

I got a bit side tracked in a way but this machine I feel is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Mine is electric but they do have battery operated ones and you can find these and the tapes in any store that carries relaxation items.

A nice scented candle combined with music can be a way to relax, or a nice bubble bath. Whatever works for you. Don’t suffer with pain when you don’t have to.

It is hard to teach mind over matter in a short review but it does work. Who knows maybe some day that will be one of the books I write. I don’t like medications and like to do things naturally.

Get a book on herbal remedies and you will find nice teas and things that will also help relax you. I feel this is important in these days of stress to spend some time totally relaxed every day and refreshed.
