Ehsaas is drected by mahesh manjrekar who seems to have bad luck with every movie these days that he directs, HIs movies have different stories not a regular bollywood revenge or a love story.
Ehsaas deals with a father and a son relationship. Ravi( sunil shetty) and his son rohan live in a small town in goa. ravi had lost his wife years back, so he took care of rohan since when he was little. Ravi begins to raise his son like any single father would. INstead of showing sympathy to their loss and enchancing their relationship due to the loss ravi begins to raise rohan in a very strict matter. Rohan who is an excellent athelte, ravi wants rohan to win the 400 meter race in the all india inter schools meet and to realise his dream he slave drives rohan.
Rohan develops hatred for his father and he starts rebelling. Antra ( neha) is rohan;s bestfriend and soulmate. Antra feels that ravi is a despot a tyrant. AS the race comes closer rohan’s training intensifies and so does his hatred for ravi. And one day a incident shatters ravi’s dreams.
Ehsaas is an honest attempt by mahesh manjrekar different from other bollywood movies. He tackles the father and son relationship. Though there have been movies with father and son relationships in the past like akele hum akele tum, masoom and rahul. Ehsaas is different in the sense that the father wants to realise his dreams through his son.
There two best scenes in the movie the first one is when sunil shetty tells his life’s flashback to his son and antra that when he was a kid his dream was to become a runner, but somehow he gets into an accident and it fractures his foot, that he can’t ever run again in this life. The second scene is in the end when rohan is running the race and his foot his hurt and he’s still running. The movie has nice dialogues and sceneries of goa are nice. The songs are okay I only like two songs yeh kaisa ehsaas hai and tumse milke hua hai
Sunil shetty gives probably his best performance in this movie, I don’t why this movie went wrong at the box office. Sunil shetty is one of my favorite actors, he’s just underrated he has done all kinds of acting, action, comedy, love stories and even a art movie like hu tu tu. The reason he’;s not in my best actors list is because these days he’s been taking part time roles in movies. Neha is all right in the movie. Rohan does a nice job he is completely natural
