Well, after the drab trailors and commercials, it takes some serious courage to actually watch this movie. In my case, it was more by chance than courage.I went into the theatre expecting the worst, but surprisingly enough, the movie is not all that bad.I mean, though its not really a engrossing movie, it isnt really bad either, in the sense, you dont get bored watching the movie.Hats off to Mahesh Manjrekar for making a good movie out of a very dull story-line.Anyway, since it doesnt really require an IQ of 160 to guess the story of the movie, let me outline the entire plot.
Ravi(Sunil Shetty) is a strict disciplarian.Though he loves his son Rohan(Mayank) a lot, he doesnt express it.Instead, he acts like a slave-driver and daily wakes up his son at 5am and puts him through a rigorous training session .No cuddling, loving words or show of pyaar from Ravi results in the boy(Rohan) hating his father and calling him Hitler. But, of course, Ravi does it all with good intentions. He wants Rohan to win the national schools athletic meet.
Incidentally, Rohan is very friendly with Anthra(Neha) who happens to be their neighbours and understands all his problems. It just so happens that Ravi is a widower and Anthra a widow.Somehow, they both manage to attend some parties together and slowly fall in love with each other. Both fail to express their love and Anthra prepares to leave for the states to meet an eligible bachelor. In the meanwhile, Rohan secretly goes out roaming with his friends and injures his leg.A dejected Ravi then lets out a sentimental dialogue about how he loves his son and his frustrations in life.Rohan eavesdrops and listens and is filled with remorse for letting his father down.
As expected, in the climax, Rohan appears for the met injury and all and puts up a brave performance despite not winning it.Ravi is impressed and elated and father-son duo make-up and embrace.Ravi manages to cough up enough courage to propose to Anthra just before she leaves in the airport(Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Style).Anthra accepts and alls well that ends well.
The first fifteen or so minutes of this movie is extraordinarily monotonous, but once Neha enters the picture, it gets interesting.Neha is absolutely gorgeous....whoooo man.Mahesh Manjrekar himself puts in a guest appearance along with Sunidhi Chauhan whos also seriously hot.Overall, a pretty good movie considering the plot. The songs are just about okay apart from the title track Yeh Kaisa Ehsaas Hai which is excellent and very melodious.Well, if you wanna watch the movie, watch it for NEHA....
