I dont if it was the lack of something else worth watching or the cute Abhay Deol that made me catch the first show of Ek Chalis ki last local
.
Was I disappointed ? Yes .
The movie was well promoted , I must say . The Larree Chootte version quite did the magic in drawing crowds( never mind the nos.) to the theatre .But not having it in the movie is quite a mistake . The director has tried to do loads of things in one movie which makes it irritating .
Actually the plot is not that bad . The director makes it look like an amateur attempt .Maybe someone like Madhur Bhandarkar would have done justice or for that even anyone from the Mahesh Bhatt thriller movies factory " could have done a better job. Thankfully this movie doesnt have Himesh Reshamiyya tracks so you dont want to tear you hair but the soundtrack isnt noticeble, it just doesnt make a difference . Background score is decent .
Saving grace is Abhay Deol ( or maybe Im just partial ) . Neha Dhupia is tolerable on screen( quite an achievement for her !!)
Screenplay is quite garish .The first half is completely wasted in trying to create the baseline for the next part (rather unsuccessfully).
And then during the second half, senseless drama just spoils whatever remains of the film.
Overall not recommended at all , guys please stay away.
