Ek Choti Si Love Story, the story of this movie deals with a subject which is a part of most of the human being. The subject is based on INFATUATION which we encounter at one or the other point of life.
The story revolves around Aditya (Aditya Seal) a 15 year old lad living with his grandmother who falls in love with a 26 year old lady (Manisha Koirala) residing in a flat opposite to his building. Aditya’s favourite hobby is to watch Manisha through his telescope placed at his study table near the window. Aditya is keen and eager to watch each and every movement of Manisha he is such a avid lover that he even sets a alarm so that he does not misses any of her movement.
Manisha is working in the Marketing Department of Planet-M she is in love with a guy (Ranveer). Whenever Ranveer comes to her place they are busy in love making, and whenever they are busy in love making Aditya is busy in watching their action.
Aditya even has the habit of having his dinner watching Manisha. Once when Ranveer comes to Manisha’s place and the moment they start their sexual act Aditya is so jealous of Manisha that he calls up the fire brigade and tells them that there is a fire accident and he gives the address of Manisha. Fire Brigade personnels comes and spoils their show which gives a satisfaction to Aditya.
When Manisha’s milkman vanishes Aditya approaches the milkshop and offers his service to deliver milk to Manisha.
During another incident he calls up Manisha and tells her that he had seen her crying the other day. Hearing this Manisha realises that the caller is staying somewhere close to her.
On the next day when he comes to the shop to gets the CD exchanged Manisha yells at him, however at the same time Manisha’s boss comes and rescues him and fires Manisha. On the way back he confesses to Manisha that he has been watching her closely as he loves her.
Once when he calls up Manisha asks him to speak out he starts speaking to her when she asks what all does he know about her he says that he has even seen her making love with her boy friend. Just to tease Aditya, Manisha places the cot next to the Window so that Aditya can get full and clear view. On arrival of her lover she starts her sexual act with her him and tells him about their being watched. Ranveer gets frustrated he walks down and yells out for Aditya and tells him if you have the guts come in front of me. Innocently Aditya walks out and gets bashed by Ranveer.
Manisha asks him what all he has seen, to which Aditya says that he has seen her making love with her lover. Manisha tells him that what he had seen is not love making but pure sex. She also asks him about her appearance after she has had her bath. To which he replies after her bath she comes out without wearing any undergarments.
She now invites him home and gives him an an opportunity to see her very closely and she asks him if he is interested to touch her or feel her or kiss her. On getting the opportunity Aditya loses his courage and runs back home. On reaching home he slashes his wrist and is hospitalised. When Manisha asks Aditya’s grandmother for the address of the hospital she is informed there is no need to go and see him as he will be back in a day or two. Manisha waits for his return.
This is what Ek Choti Si Love Story is all about.
In fact I feel instead of rating this movie as an Adult Only our Censor should have passed this movie as an U/A. Such movies are a must for the current college students who should be in a position to differentiate between love and infatuation.
Hats off to Sashilal Nair for making a film on such a bold topic. I feel there is nothing vulgar shown in this film. In fact in many of the TV channels the scenes shown are more hot and vulgar than the ones shown in this movie. In fact the character of Aditya’s grandmother is also shown as a modern and outward lady who tells Aditya if you have any girl friend you can bring her home.
The controversy created by Manisha is nothing but a publicity stunt. Had Manisha been so conscious about her dignity she should not have signed the movie. In this movie whatever little exposure has been done, it has been done by the body double. But in one of the scenes acted by Manisha, ’’Manisha in a very skimpy shorts takes Aditya to her flat and makes him sit besides her and asks him if he is interested to touch her or feel her or kiss her’’ this scene done by Manisha herself is much more hotter than the one done by the body double.
Atleast if the college going kids are allowed to watch this movie they can know the difference between love, infatuation and sexual act.
Peformance wise Aditya has done an excellent job. Manisha needs to improve her acting skill.
