Just when you thought I’d stopped writing reviews, I’m back here to bug you (despite the heaps of work I have to do) :P !!Hurray, lets party!!!
Not that I actually had gone anywhere in the first place. Honestly speaking, I was just a little put off due to the fact that I wozn’t that popular. But then I realised that popularity comes with people liking you and the few reviews you do write…and not just writing a load of reviews at the same time. Wait, I’m not trying to plea a la Shamit Tyagi (the pro) to try and gain your votes (I mean, look what happened to him!). Its just that now, I am writing for my creative satisfaction :), and, as always, for people to smile :D – Now show me those Colgate teeth of yours! Unless you use Close-up or something…

Ek thi bhikaari, paise ke bina thi sayaani… Ek tha kameena, sirf khaata tha biryaani..and I don’t think ki I should continue this kahaani…
I hope you didn’t become enthralled by my title too much - it was just a mistake made accidentally on purpose by a friend, and I hope it may have made the sides of your mouth life up a bit :)
The promos of Ek Khiladi, Ek Haseena (EKEH) emit all those “don’t-give-a-damn” attitude vibes. There was the suit-ridden Fardeen Khan, looking forever stylish and slick with a glamorous looking Koena Mitra (better known as the hot saaki gal) at his side. We think he gets beeped out for using the ‘f’ word at one point. Don’t you think that the title so should have been Ek Haseena, Ek Khiladi? It has such a better ring to it. The injustices of our society strike again…To sum up the movie, it looks like one of those dark and dangerous thrillers with some added sex appeal. I guess that’s how you could sum up the music album as well…
Blatantly speaking, the music is by Pritam. Anyone who has heard a single song out of this album would have been able to tell that as quick as opening a packet of Maggie Instant Noodles (they take longer to cook ;). And I think it was a little too quick after the Chocolate album that this one came out. We were still trying to figure out what that plot was about when a new album with the same singers and same beats came out. Sometimes I wonder why I bought the EKEH track. It does have some good songs. And Pritam has become some-what of a personal favourite (he did the amazing Remix music, man!!). So here’s a quick review on the tracks:
Ishq Hai Jhoota ~ Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan
The visual impact of this song is original. Surprising to see a girl versus a guy in the boxing ring…and the guy actually aiming to beat her up (but mysteriously missing each time)! It has a catchy rhythm which you can tap you feet to, nod your head to, or whatever else people do. The lyrics are kool, Kunal’s being in Hinglish (eg. love hai toxic, love zeher hai) Unlike the Chocolate album, this one has a sensible beginnings and endings. Saara jahaan kahe ishq hai jhoota, aur main totally agree karti ;)
Akhiyaan Na Maar ~ Sunidhi Chauhan
“Oi balle balle” shouts this track! With Bhangra music becoming ever-popular, there has to be at least one song from a movie influenced by it. And Pritam seems to know his game well. He always picks up on the stuff people like at the moment. Only thing is that this track doesn’t have a ear-piercing voice to do the honours…instead with have Sunidhi! Her voice is much stronger than when she was singing Mummy like a sharaabi. Despite me being a pro on writing music album reviews at this point, I don’t have much more on this one! Just listen to the music with the excessive amounts of menus and tenus. Kyaa pata, you may just like it :)
Jal Jal Ke Dhua ~ Sonu Nigam
Not as energetic as the previous track, but fit for a different reason. It’s the kind of song that gives you smooth stokes whilst painting. I like the background music, especially the light latino style. The lyrics are interesting as well…lovers getting burnt to smoke. But I doubt you’re meant to take the literal meaning of it :P Try and use that romantic mind of yours…Soulful lyrics in this stylish solo sung by Sonu Nigam (there, I’ve invented a tongue-twister for you! Bet you can’t repeat it 10 times really fast!)
Jhoom ~ Suzanne D’Mello
I think this is a rocking track, literally. The beginning starts of quite mellow and melodious, until it gets to the chorus where things really start to heat up! Suzanne D’Mello does a really good job, showing much more potential than her whispers in Khalish si hai, so jhoom with her voice! I like the lyrics “shaam, yeh mehki mehki shaam, kar de mere naam…” and the electric guitar rocks!
Nasha ~ Sukhwinder Singh
I think the album could have had a touch more of variety between the songs. I just find a lot of the beats similar in these songs. This one is a fast number (listen to it before it runs away), with a lots of highs and lows in the voice variation. Lets see if you drown in the intoxication…
Yaaron ~ Shaan, Sonu Nigam
As you may have noticed, I’m writing less and less as the songs proceed! I’m really not too big a fan of this song, so not gonna write much :) Two of the best singers singing together... I found the starting part a bit amusing – “All the people on the moon” say something or the other. But all in all the song has a nice feel to it, and is full of beans (cooked, in sunflower oil ;))
Is that all? I hear you say. The truth is, yes it is… But fikar not, there are remixes galore which I will not go on to explain coz they are, ultimately, just remixes! There are different versions of Ishq Hai Jhoota, Akhiyaan Na Maar, Jal Jal Ke Dhua and Yaaron!!

Chalo, that’s end of the road, I mean review!…aur agar RRC nahi kiya na, to apun bhai ko bulaayegi, samjhe kyaa?! No need for threats, coz I luv you all really :)
