My cable operator had given an opportunity to watch Ek Rishtaa at home and save money.
Ek Rishtaa, is not the first movie based on family bond. A story of a family and how they work out the complexities of relationships that bind them together.
Ek Rishtaa revolves around Vijay Kapoor (Amitabh Bachchan - another movie and another Vijay), a self-motivated businessman. His inspiration and motivating factor is his family, made up of his wife Pratima (Raakhee), their three daughters - Rani, Priya (Simone Singh) and Priti (Juhi Chawla)-and their son, Ajay (Akshay Kumar), who is studying abroad to secure his Masters in Information Technology.
Into this household comes Rajesh Purohit (Mohnish Bahl), a wannabe business graduate who simple hero-worships Vijay Kapoor. Priti and Rajesh fall in love with each other and Kapoor approves the alliance thoroughly.
On the other side of the globe is Ajay, who realizing his potential decides that he wants to start his own business.
Mr. Big B ie Kapoor, belonging to the old school of thought, completely disapproves of it and believes that Ajay should first gain experience in the family business before he can start anything on his own. As the two start working jointly, huge ideological disparities burgeon. Not only does the generation gap start to play between father and son, but Ajay has come back with a number of western dogmas that he wants to put into practice that he old father will never allow. This rift in the relationship quickly widens. Both believe they are right in the stance they take and both refuse to bend.
Somewhere in the film, Monish Bhel is blamed for the rift between father and son. Then again, the film diverts from this with the wedding of Akshay and Karishma taking a bad turn. Karisma walks out of her marriage. Juhi, however despite knowing the wicked plans of her husband, continues to stay with Monish.
Other than occasional flaws in the script, Ek Rishtaa is a family entertainer. The whole film rests on the broad shoulders of Amitabh Bachchan. This Vijay does not let you down. Those used to wooden-faced performances from Akshay Kumar are in for a pleasant surprise. The actor seemed to have dipped into his talent trout and come up with something to match Bachchan’s talent. Astounding. Right? Rakhee is dependable as usual. Karisma and Juhi are good as is Monish Bahl.
All the song were being forwarded by the cable operator and the only played song was Hum Khush Hue and was okey.
Now it is up to u viewers to watch or now.
If u r a family bonded person then go forward and watch this.
