Maybe I am a hindi movie buff which is why I went to see Ek Rishtaa.Lucky me, someone took me at the last moment to see it.Otherwise the only option is to purchase tickets in black.Well, onto the flick.I found it quite nice.See, I am not like other critics to find faults in the movie but Amitabh as usual impresses.Give him a faltu movie and he will still give a sterling performance.Basically, it is the story of a rift that develops between father and son when they disagree on certain business practices. As usual there are relatives to take advantage of the situation and widen the rift.Hence the title of this review.I feel we are better off without relatives.Very close relations are ok but when hangers on catch up with you it makes the going very difficult.People might disagree with me on this point. The movie is a tad bit long but then hindi movies are usually.Akshay Kumarperforms quite well in front of the Big B.No jittery feet here, he exudes confidence.Rakhee pairs up with Amitabh after a long time as his wife. For the whole affair is a cakewalk.Karisma looks glamorous like Cliff Richards Living Doll.Songs are not hummable at all.All in all a decent hindi movie with overall good performances.See it if you have nothing good to do.Do not have any high expectations from this movie and you will not be disappointed.
