El-Chico is one of the oldest restaurants of Allahabad. It belongs to that era when dining in a restaurant used to be a luxury. It is located at the most prime location i.e. at Subhash Chauraha, Civil Lines.
This restaurant has got one of the best ambience in Allahabad. It gives a feel of dining at a posh area of Mumbai, the design and set up gives a royal and english feeling.
I have visited the restaurant several times with family as well as a guest to a meeting. I have found everything there just perfect, the most important of all is that however good a restaurant may be but their restrooms are just horrible but here you won't find that.
They offer a large number of delicacies in both veg and non veg zone. I have relished mutton roghan josh, paneer tikka, butter chicken, tomato soup, chicken clear soup and almost all the chinese items and each and every item was perfect i.e. not very spicy and not less too. The quantity served by them is ok because their price is very high. But the high price is justified because El-Chico is a brand. I would like to mention that this restaurant has achieved a cult and an elite status.
The staff and waiters are very well mannered and they are always in a prescribed uniform.
